Live and direct from Glasgow, TALISK, one of Scotland’s most popular folk-based groups to emerge in the last decade, returns to welcome the new year!

Wielding instruments that have rarely seen the likes of their music, Mohsen Amini (concertina), Benedict Morris (violin) and Charlie Galloway (guitar) have gathered major awards for their explosively energetic sound. With over 15 million streams, 10,000 albums sold worldwide, and sold out shows across five continents - from Paris to New York, London to Tokyo, Glasgow to Vancouver - alongside headline appearances at festivals the world over, the Scottish trio have amassed a global, die-hard following.

At New Year 2022 they played BBC One’s Hogmanay show to a television audience in excess of one million, and - as the only folk act alongside pop headliners - quickly amassed a vast, mainstream audience that continues to propel the group to some of their largest live shows to date. Headlining Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom in 2024 - during Europe’s largest winter festival, the legendary Celtic Connections - Talisk’s star remains firmly on a rapid ascent, and then some.

THE TRIALS OF CATO
The remarkable rise of BBC Radio 2 award-winning trio The Trials of Cato on the UK folk scene has been the subject of massive critical attention. Dubbed "the Sex Pistols of folk,” (J Davis) they pay clear homage to the tradition whilst twisting old bones into something febrile and modern, with stomping tunes and captivating stories.
Following a year of wall-to-wall touring across the UK, Europe, and North America in 2019, the band’s march was halted by the live silence of the global pandemic. Now, they emerge from their chrysalis transformed. As ever, ‘The Trials Continue’ - but this time the multi-talented instrumentalist and singer Polly Bolton joins their ranks.
The Trials of Cato’s hotly anticipated second album is scheduled for release later this year. Entitled Gog Magog, the album is named both after the mythical giant of Arthurian legend and the Cambridgeshire hilltop, where the new album was birthed over lockdown.
